Who needs soap operas when you've got Republicans? Don't think C-SPAN has ever been this entertaining to watch.
The Republicans finally have an election they can do over and they still can't win... In rehab they liked to remind us that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, starting to look like Kevin McCarthy could use an intervention...
They're supposed to have another try at it in a few minutes, who wants to make book on how many more votes it takes to get a functional House of Representatives? By functional I mean electing a speaker, not actually functional, there's no way that's happening with this crew.
While the politichickens politicians have been entertaining the world with a crisis of their own making I've been on a bit of a hiatus myself. Used the time to slip out of town and spend a couple nights at the Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. It was a bit wild, we went from cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey to hoodie weather in the span of a week. We couldn't pass up the opportunity so we put the trip together on the fly and went shooting.
Came back with way more photos than I've been able to work through yet but wanted to throw a few up while I work my way through the rest. The last photo is where we got to stay, the Farm Deacon's Shop which was built in 1809. It's kind of fitting, the last time the House of Representatives was in this sort of shape the Shakers were still alive and using the building.
Now where's my popcorn, the shitshow is about to start back up again?
Looking at my relationship track record it appears I was insane for most of my adult life. Yessssss.
Nice pictures! The road is my favorite.
🤣🤣🤣
For relationships I did the oscillate wildly between extremes thing and saved most of my insanity for substance abuse.
Thank ya! That used to be the main road through the area, after they built a bypass they restored it to it's old condition.
Cool photos! I need to make some changes. I keep doing the same thing and nothing changes.
Thanks! May the Force be with you, that's never fun nor easy.
You're welcome and no it's not fun at all. I'll keep trying though.
I love that wall! And yes, your politicians... Republican USA has become a circus
If you like the wall you'd love Shaker Village, the whole area is lined with them. I think most of them are original and date back to the mid 1800s.
Yeah, I'm afraid this is just the opening act for the next two years.
Nice shots.
Ill be waiting for the next post.
Thank you!
I'll try not to keep you waiting too long :)
Isn't Republican an Ireland thing?
Only in a Provisional sense.
One unique personal perspective, as always! 👍📸
We featured your photograph in our @PhotoCuration selection, congrats!
Ha, thank you!
Glad you liked it! The Shakers were rather interesting folks :)
