Should be working on my Little Loomhouse project but the world and my brain are busy and neither are doing what they ought. It doesn't count as procrastination if you're still productive, right?
Got a constitutional crisis picking up steam on the DL, Bibi is back to making the rubble bounce, and Tesla dealerships are proving to be fire hazards. Hard to write about a historic loomhouse, cute though it is, with all that conspiring to distract you.
Oh yeah, the climate is all out of whack too, but that actually worked in my favor for once. With it not yet spring we nearly hit 80F (26C) yesterday, had to get away from all the noise and nonsense and back into some woods. 'Away' is a relative thing, wound up just down the road in the Jefferson Memorial Forest.
There's a lake there, up on Mitchell Hill. When the wind is still, the reflections there are pretty chill. Quiet too, just frogs and red winged blackbirds singing out. Watching the turtles sunning themselves on fallen logs as the first hints of spring poked up, seemed like Mother Nature was trying to remind me that even amidst the death and dreariness, life goes on.
The noise and nonsense will always be out there waiting but being out here always puts it in better perspective. Now if only someone could make the police helicopter stop circling...
In other news, spring is here! Now back to you at the station.
Beautiful nature photos. 80° and now today we are getting a couple of inches of snow!
Thank you! We were lucky enough to dodge to snow, just some nice thunderstorms last night as I was writing and then it dropped into the 40s. The daffodils are already blooming here, what about up in your neck of the woods?
