Down In Jungleland

And the poets down here don't write nothing at all
They just stand back and let it all be

I have seen the promised land, and Jefferson Mall ain't it. Ever spent much time in a shopping mall? They're curious places, part temple of the GDP god, Consumer, and part community gathering place.

More, More, MOAR More. Always more. Want a credit card? There's more where that came from.

If my understanding of American culture is accurate, malls have long been a gathering place for teenagers and Jefferson Mall is no different. The ones here have been known to have a little more fun than the law will allow on occasion, now they have to have a chaperone.

Even Grandma's Lil' Angels. Had intended to keep it fairly inconspicuous but either my camo boonie hat or my emotional support knife gave me away. Just about every time I looked up from the camera there was a rent-a-cop 'just passing through,' guess they wanted to make sure I felt safe.

As a kid, food court food was the one redeeming quality of shopping malls but somewhere along the way it seems to have become underwhelming. Now it's just prime people watching territory.

Now for some window shopping. . .
