Life is strange. Death is strange too, but in a different way. Hadn't been shooting downtown in a while so earlier this week I made my way down there.
Run into this feller, who was having a grand time just enjoying the view of the riverfront and the beautiful day. Homeless he said he was, but also the happiest person I saw that day.
Things went under the bridge after that. Got home that afternoon only to learn that a good friend had died on Mount Hood this past weekend.
We'd lived together for a few years, and he'd nearly drank himself to death then, but sobered up just in time for us to go through the first couple years of covid and an uprising together. Got to see him really start living and enjoying life, at least until he went for a hike and didn't come back.
Haven't been doing very much concentrating since I got the news but I keep thinking of this guy too. Enjoy what you've got folks, yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow is but a promise.
Sorry to hear.
Hang in there, all the best from Amsterdam.
Thank you.
