Flood Reflections

Who's up for a picnic? It's the weekend, c'mon, it'll be fun! What could go wrong? Last Saturday was the deluge and the Ohio River is still hungover from it.

Went down to Waterfront Park to check on it Wednesday, may have gotten carried away and taken a few (hundred) photos. There was just too many fun reflections where there usually isn't any reflections.

Wasn't all reflections. Is it just me or does that have some sort of abstract sculpture vibe to it? Was a bit surreal, look one direction and it's winter, look the other way and its flood. Thankfully the river has crested and started to recede earlier today.

The flash flooding last weekend was no joke, but this bit of flooding has been pretty minor, at least in this part of town. Haven't seen anyone paddling kayaks up a street this time around. Just geese.

Normally, there's no reflections here, just a bit of pavers and parking. I-64 here doesn't usually notice the flooding, they just close the ramp on the left if the water gets much higher.

All aboard! The Belle of Louisville (left) and it's lifesaving station turned ticket office, Mayor Andrew Broaddus weren't afraid of a little water. Did complicate the morning commute a bit.

Empty benches amidst puddles of water, giving a romantic atmosphere.

Wow...
Excellent!
