Are we having fun yet or what? The advertising salespeople news have been having a field day with all the nuclear weapons talk out of the Russians and all the hand wringing is starting to get to me. I mean seriously, did y'all forget the Cold War? The Soviet Union may have disintegrated but that didn't measurably alter the Mexican standoff that we so fondly refer to as mutually assured destruction. Now how's that for a euphemism? The nukes never went anywhere, we just talked about them less.
All the talk now is a bit rich if you look past the rhetoric. For all Putin's supposed concern about NATO he's sure done a good job of turning into mincemeat the troops whose job it would be to actually fight NATO. Similarly, at the same time that he's making nuclear threats, Putin is also sending his hometown's air defenses to Ukraine. Either he really hates his hometown or else he doesn't expect there to be a need to defend it.
What makes the media ruckus so obnoxious is they regularly quote from the same source that I pulled that information from (see for yourself here), so they are well aware of situation. I guess that advertising isn't going to sell itself.
Had to get away from all the absurdity so I went for a #wednesdaywalk. Easier said than done when you're out where the sidewalk ends. . . in the middle of the block for no apparent reason.
Cuts for Christ? Does Christ get a cut? You know there'll be hell to pay if he doesn't.
It's dangerous out there y'all, even just hiking in the park. Over the years there's been plenty of things I've had to watch out for while out hiking but this was the first time that golf balls were the primary danger.
Found Saint Mary of the Woods inside a hollow tree, had to leave a golf ball offering in exchange for safe passage.
Still had one close call but managed to sneak past. Is there a more bougie sport than golf? I'm still convinced that golf courses are just a waste of perfectly good rifle ranges.
Of all the things I thought I might encounter while out and about, this last photo was not on the list. Unless I am mistaken that is a 1948 Ford F-1. Also saw a couple Novas and Chevelles, as well as a GTO but they were more camera shy.

The thing with the war and economic crisis on the world is, to me at least, the start of the end of the United States domination.
Russia might lose or win the war, but China will rise as the new world ruller.

I suspect you may be right although as things stand now it may actually increase it. With how strong the dollar is right now its great for us and bad for everyone else but we're as liable as not to do ourselves in before long.
Even if they ultimately triumph on the battlefield, Russia has lost this war. China stands to gain the most out of this but they have their own economic and demographic crises to deal with. If they survive that they'll be calling the shots for a while. I just wouldn't wager much money on the CCP surviving the next decade or two.
