Is this thing still on? I seem to have wandered off and left Hive plugged in unattended. Nothing seems to have burned down in my absence so I'm going to call that a win.
Been trying to hit the submit button for the past week but it kept being on other websites. Me and Hive are in an open relationship. Did manage to apply for a residency at a place in Winchester, Virginia. In the unlikely event that I get it, I'll get to spend a month there 'working on my art'. Had a great uncle that used to talk about the time he spent 'working on my art,' but his residency was in the county jail.
This should be a far more pleasant experience. Hadn't applied for anything like that in a long time, not since I was applying to colleges twenty years ago. Hasn't gotten any more fun but it was much less frustrating this time around and I blame Hive for that.
To celebrate being through with all that I headed for the Big Four Bridge to see if could indulge in a little street photography. The Big Four is an old railroad bridge over the Ohio River that they turned into a walking bridge a while back.
There's a long, winding ramp up to the bridge from which you can catch a glimpse of downtown in the distance and the famous Spaghetti Junction. It's always noticeably windier atop the bridge but if you can tolerate that you can walk across the river to Jeffersonville, Indiana.
You've got to watch out for the bikes though, they're usually attempting to navigate the human obstacle course at speeds that seem unwise for such an elevated platform. Does make it easier to take photos of them though.
There's nothing like snapping a shot of a stranger's child to make things get awkward fast. Fortunately that rarely gets beyond stares and glares, just spices things up a bit.
Louisville has a mess of other bridges in addition to the Big Four. I keep telling them that what we really need is a big, beautiful wall to keep out all them funny talking Hoosiers but the mayor is too afraid of what the neighbors might think. Sounds a lot better than toll bridges.
Welcome to Indiana! No Trespassing! Feel like this is just begging for someone to come along and add a 't' on to the end of the no. Can't help but wonder if this is connected to the "I 🖤 Crank" tag I found just downstream a few years back.
Didn't stick around on the Indiana side very long, will have to go back with heavier ordnance when there isn't college basketball game traffic to battle.
It's interesting how differently people react to a camera. Some actively shun it's gaze, others stop me and ask for their photo to be taken.

Thank ya! Lol, in some of the situations I've taken photos in, being asked for money would have been a relief, as long as they don't have a gun in their hand I'll not complain.
Ah, yes a gun would be a bit of a challenge LOL

Yes, I can relate to being impatient. 7-10 days after the deadline I think it would acceptable for you to contact them and ask.
Went back and looked again when I was more awake, still didn't have anything on their website but the listing on the submission platform said 30-45 days. Guess it's fingers crossed until then
