Randoms From Around Town

The fortune teller told me nothing that I wouldn't have found out on my own
---James McMurtry

Here in Louisville we have an informal tradition best described as car part curb art. How it works is that the drivers who actually stop after hitting something usually donate a portion of their vehicle to the roadside art gallery otherwise known as the sidewalk. Around here it's seen as an offering of appeasement to the Probability Gods that govern our streets and highways.

Cat cafes make more purrfect days. Hard to walk past and not peek in. The Highlands here has both a cat cafe and a dog bar, they just try to keep a couple miles between'em. The Highlands is an interesting place. Ended up over there yesterday kind of unintentionally and discovered that it was St. Patrick's Day (parade). Don't ask me, I didn't sell them a calendar.

The Highlands is an exercise in patience at rush hour, with a drinking holiday such as that it's more a game of road rage bingo.

Bailed out before it got to that thankfully. Is it just me, or do loading docks have a very 'liminal space' feel to them? Just stretching on and on and seemingly deserted.

Louisville has some historic firehouses scattered around town that I occasionally stumble across. This isn't one of them. There is one in the Highlands that I've got photos of but it's spent years being a fancy rug store and is now some sort of Lego resale shop.
