Greetings from the hills! Hope this finds you well, or swell, or in hell, or wherever you happen to dwell. Here in the hills we're staying in a tiny house that comes complete with an outhouse, which sounds suspiciously like my granny's Great Depression stories.
Is that your chicken? There's chickens too of course, but nary a rooster thankfully. Organic alarm clocks are overrated. Woke up just fine without one and made for Red River Gorge, along with everyone else and their cousin.
Did you know you can do street photography even where there ain't no streets? Good thing too because getting shots of just the natural wonders was out of the question. Too contaminated with humans. Fortunately they're a wonder of sorts in their own right. This individual perched atop Creation Falls was about to make a second attempt at using it as a water slide after the first attempt had resulted in a rather epic faceplant in the sand.
Was kind of wild, there were more people on the trail in the Gorge than I normally see out on the street in Louisville. Seemed like everyone was having a great start to their holiday weekend.
Managed to get in a visit to the sprawling metropolis of Beattyville, Kentucky after our hike. So much had changed and yet nothing had changed. More on that later, sleep is calling.
Imagine our idea of something great, being our grandparents' hell with a little extra to eat. Might be telling of the current state of everything.
We have kinda come full circle haven't we? Like how 'organic farming' used to be called subsistence farming.
It's probably just cyclical man. They were dreaming of flying cars and we're running away from them.
I rather like the organic alarm clocks. I learned to ignore them as a kid and they never trouble my sleep
Same, we never had any but our neighbor up the road raised fighting roosters and you could always hear them. My problem was never the noise, just that some of them were just plain old mean.
I love reading your perspective of that city, with your writings you make it look very close to us and I like it!
That portrait of the father carrying his child is just precious!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
They were something, just couldn't pass that up :)
Just like that, life in the mountains is hard but things are beautiful there. A father always works hard for his children in the same way and tries so that his children can live a good life.
So very true.
I love that car. It looks like a Volvo
Nice pictures though
Good job!
That car was something, I had to take photos of it twice.
Thank you!
Thank You very much for participating and for being part of the Black And White Community!Congratulations. Today's #monomad first place is yours.
Huzzah, thanks so much!
Ha, I know you do, was just making sure everybody knew :)
Thank you my friend. For some reason there always seems to be a chicken whenever my partner and I go on an adventure.
