Got a little lively around these parts yesterday evening. I was just a sitting editing photos when the lights started flickering in some sort of cursive Morse code. Always a good sign.
The Smart Technology Symphony accompanied the lights with an impromptu performance of their classic hit Beep Frantically. Just about the time the power died for good and put a stop to all that the phones started wailing out their 'Get the Fear' scream and a minute or two later the air raid sirens joined in to complete the cacophony.
It was almost enough to make this retired smoker want a cigarette. I'd been editing photos from my recent Amtrak adventure when this all happened. The only times I was able to get off the train and snap a few photos were the stops designated as smoke breaks, so I'd already been staring at photos of cigarettes for hours. Does wonders for cravings...
Our phones seemed rather insistent about that tornado warning thing, figured it best if we got below ground and out of the line of fire. Headed for the basement but the rain had beat us there and it had half a foot of water standing at one end.
Starting to think Mother Nature has it in for us, that's our third tornado warning in as many weeks. We were lucky, all we ended up getting was some high (80mph) winds and heavy rain but other parts of town weren't as lucky, with at least two confirmed tornadoes so far and likely a couple more.
Can somebody left me off, I'm getting tired of this ride. Time to take a break Driver 8.

When you need that nicotine you'll find a way. Lol, I've lit cigarettes inside my shirt before when nothing else would work.
