Don't worry, this isn't about that weird chili - spaghetti amalgamation, or even food for that matter. Got back late last night from a few days up in Newport, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio and had to edit a few shots.
Wasn't nearly enough time to do all the wandering in downtown Cincy that was called for but we still made do. Louisville and Cincinnati are both Ohio River towns, suspect that had something to do with why Cincy felt so very familiar and yet different.
Managed to find a good place to reflect on humanity's capacity for casual cruelty. Bubba forbid that someone might try and sleep on your rock hard bench.
Cincinnati has a bit more of a downtown than Louisville, so there was more to shoot than I could focus on in one trip. Kept trying to look every which way at once but that never works out.
Just makes your neck sore. Ever since I got interested in that Art Deco gas station in Shamrock, Texas, I've had my eye out for anything Art Deco. The Carew Tower here fit that bill nicely. There's an observation deck at the top you can see three states from but the crane looking things might explain why it was closed.
Downtown Cincy is on the bottom land close to the river but the city has crawled it's way up the hills surrounding the lowlands. The first photo and the one above were both taken from the Mount Adams / Eden Park area. It seemed like much the same thing had played out here as in Louisville, with the city growing to encompass what had once been separate communities.
It's about time for me to sail off to sleep but I couldn't post about Cincinnati without including at least one photo of the Ohio River that is its reason for existence.
I’ve heard a lot about Cincinnati
It’s beautiful with these pictures I’ve seen
Well done taking lovely pictures!
Really? I wouldn't have thought anything in Ohio would be well known but that may just be neighborly bias.
It's definitely something to see.
Thank you!
