i've been adrift

sailing the asphalt seas
peering down from the crow's nests of ferry boats
at my internals

i wait for something to come over the horizon

some big reveal
some profound epiphany
but all i get are moments of clarity
which are
more or less
buzzkills

so i ask for help

hey, universe, can you help a sister out?

i'm a little lost

...

is anyone listening..?

sometimes it works

other times i just get a peanut
but i'm not complaining

i'm doin all right

so long as i got
black feathers in my face
wheels under my butt
and places to go
i'll be ok
