Chai, Moustaches & Cricket // Expired and Melted B&W 35mm film // PUNE, INDIA

I spent much of my time living in India on the hunt for old cameras. If they had an old exposed roll of film in the dock then great, Id process it and see what I found. However it was rare to find and the plan failed bar a few interesting rolls. What was more common was a camera dealer or stall offering up decades old rolls of film as apparent antiques 'Absolutely my friend do not put this in camera, no good, old, for display yeah'.

If you want my cup of tea, then yeah maybe don't throw it into your brand new Leica M5 but into anything else? Hell yeah.

Now I don't want to underwhelm. This venture is far better when you find a melted and bust up colour film but with B&W its interesting too, the age and condition of the film is always a surprise and it gives your images a nostalgic feel.

These images are what they are. A walk around a small part of a large city whilst i was on a break from a documentary shoot. They aren't great but the format makes them better and it also made the experience more engaging, even the conversations i was able to strike up because of my funky Olympus RC35 camera were priceless.

I hope you enjoyed these images, all from one roll of film.
