Raiders Of The Lost Drive // Deep-diving into my portfolio

This portrait was shot in the Eastern Quarter, right on the border of the Arabic/ Jewish quarters of the city of Jerusalem. It was featured in National Geographic but sadly caused a stir.

I myself are Pro-Palestinian. Of course I agree and disagree with aspects on all sides it's quite clear who the victims are in this conflict. I was accused of giving off a false impression of Arab children in Israel. It was never the intention. From my experience there was a huge presence of toy guns around Palestinian kids, but that's how we grow up, we mimic the things around us and sadly for most Palestinians that's been war and occupation.

This image of Panda was part of an investigative series of images I took whilst visiting a supposed Panda Sanctuary just outside of Xi'an, China. If you visit my blog you can find the original article posted about 3 months ago. Long-Story-Short, it was deceitful Panda Prison which mostly likely had connections to the illegal trading of endangered species.

This is a portrait of Savaleram, a young humble guide who looked after myself and my two colleagues while we toured the Sahyadri Mountains, in Maharashtra, India. Sadly Savaleram died a few months back after getting into difficulties not far from where this photo was taken. He tragically fell to his death.

This is an oldie. It is a portrait taken in Moscow just outside the Red Square of a homeless women feeding the street Pigeons. The image is nostalgic to me, probably because it reminds me of Home Alone 2.

Taken in a market in Tel Aviv, Israel this a portrait of a Jewish man taking a deep whiff of the olives. I watched as he expertly decided which was the best buy and I quickly copied his decision. Yum.

I took this portrait in Arambol, Goa, India one evening while playing cards with a group of illegal poker players. Interestingly gambling ships camp out just off-shore, you can see the lights glimmering in the distance at night. These pokers players, gamblers take boats out in the middle of night to gamble and trade. All very illegal and dodgy but it was a fun night. The image was created by hand operating a flash gun while my DSLR composed a long-exposure.

Just a nice portrait of my Indian Stray I rescued meeting a hush puppy in Edinburgh, Scotland. I think it's pawrfect.

Last but not least my favourite landscape image of the tea fields in the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia. What a beautiful place. It looks great in colour the Cameron Highlands, but black and white photography, as we all know is a master of lines and often these are lost in the vibrancy of colour photography.

I hope you enjoy this collection from my portfolio, till next time, click click click!

I enjoyed it immensely, thank you. Some sad memories mixed with love and respect.

@tipu curate

Thank you! Yes you are correct, sad and happy in one post, or Black and White?

What lovely pictures, Thank you for sharing the stories behind them. It's heartbreaking to see children have guns on their hands, but they were trained to protect the land territory that has been occupied. I feel sorry for the families that have been affected by this, and I hope they can find peace on their land soon. 🙏

Yeah, mind you they are fake but there really was very little infrastructure in this part of Jerusalem, even though it was on the Israeli side. It was very clear that social funds weren't being distributed properly.

Awesome shots. That first one is very thought provoking. Just like any good photograph should be.

Your black & white images are very cinematic. There seems to be some story behind every photo.
