[Lift your eyes ]This is my entry for the #monomad challenge

in Black And Whitelast year

Hello for my #monomad challenge I'm going to show you some urban photos. In this series, I performed [Lift your eye]. Why because when I walk in the street, I never look up but rather look down to avoid walking in dog droppings... During a business stop in a French town I let myself be tempted to take in the urban landscape. The idea came to me while looking at the posts of @jlinaresp, an urban photography specialist. I have already passed through this city at least 20 times. I wasn't lost and I headed towards the areas of the city center where you can find a lot of old houses. In all its forms and of all ages. Overall the town is well maintained. I saw a few open doors opening onto courtyards. I admit that I didn't dare discreetly sneak a few photos. But as a new visit to this city will be necessary very soon I will come back with lots of photos of the intimate hide of the center. Sometimes behind a beautiful facade there hides some horror hahaha.
I was very surprised to see this facade in a rococo tone. I didn't think we could do stuff like that at a certain time. Obviously the people who built this house were extremely wealthy. I am not able to give you an exact date. But given the windows and the lion's heads we are sure of Napoleon 3 1830 - 1873

A city church. There are several but I didn't have time to do them all, I will next time. I stopped for a glass of wine at the bistro on the left. The street is pedestrianized and paved with granite on the ground.

The view from below of a house older than my first photo. It is a half-timbered house with a wooden structure and brick or stone filling. Soon I will present complete street photos of this type of house. Which dates from 1470. The heads sculpted in purple still exist after more than 550 years of rain, snow and sun.

Another view with the head in the air. With all its windows aligned

This day I took the photo I was lucky. A bit of sun came to caress a facade with its soft rays giving contrast to the photo

The last two photos of houses were terraced. Amazing to see that one is a little more damaged than the other. This one had a damper on the fireplace and was being restored.

Thank you for coming to see me, it's always nice to have an unexpected visitor hahahaha.
Have a good weekend and have a great holiday!!

What a beautiful place and pictures, the first two are the ones I liked the most, the place is beautiful!

@avdesing Thank you, this city is incredible, it only has 160,000 inhabitants, including students. Full of buildings and stone monuments. I had a good time taking my photos half in the rain lol. After it rained too much I left again.

Really beautiful and when places are sparsely populated, even better. The photos in the rain are great!
