I really like the above quote, for me it’s black and white photography in a nutshell. It allows for the viewer to finalize the image themselves using their own imagination. I think it’s similar to the difference of reading a book versus watching the movie.
In a way black and white kind of takes away the concept of time. A black and white photograph taken today could look similar to one taken a hundred years ago. At least if you take away any modern objects in the picture, like with most landscape photography.
In the above photograph the fence definitely creates a setting of the olden days. This kind of fence has been used in Sweden for hundreds of years, and it works just as well to this day. I like it much more than modern fences as it blends in well with the surrounding nature.

Hi there! The shots are beautiful. My favorite is the first one, I could almost feel the timid warmth of the sunlight filtering through the trees.
Hmm, it's crazy but I hadn't really thought of that before. It's true, B&W freezes time and can make it a very abstract concept. How interesting!
