Monomad Challenge: The heritage of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth

in Black And White3 years ago (edited)

Hello to all! The Butrimovich Palace is a historical building that nowadays serves as a registry office. Surprisingly, the city of Pinsk has a lot of architecture, which is the heritage of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In the city, there are many buildings from the ancient era, made by famous Polish architects. The Butrimovich Palace was founded with the support of the last Polish king Stanislav Poniatowski. It is a beautiful building that looks great in black and white. This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

The Butrimovich Palace is a combination of two styles of architecture - classicism and baroque. Each end of the building has four double columns. It looks interesting, since the front part of the building is located on the opposite side of the main street of Pinsk. In order to see the splendor of the building, you must turn off the main street.

The construction took about ten years. The first owner of the palace was Mateusz Butrimovich - the judge, from his name the building got its name. Before the outbreak of World War II, this building served as a Catholic church. However, Russian troops soon plundered this building.

The building has been performing various functions for a long time. For example, after the Second World War it served as a printing house. And then the Butrimovich Palace was a building called Pioneer. This name stuck to the former palace for many years and was the city's House of Pioneers.

Only in 2009, the building of the Butrimovich Palace became the city registry office. This is probably the most beautiful registry office in the whole country. Simultaneously with the "Palace of Weddings" there is the Museum of the Belarusian Polesie. The architecture of the building has retained its original features. This is very encouraging.

On the side of the central street, the Butrimovich Palace does not look as pompous as on the inside, but it is quite interesting.

The Butrimovich Palace is not only a historical architectural landmark, but it looks amazing. This place has gone through several generations and has many functions. From the palace of a famous person to the places where families are created. The walls of the Butrimovich Palace saw a lot. Even considering that the building is not tall, its historical grandeur is impressive. I hope you liked the Butrimovich Palace!

Interesting; it's a stately building, but not overly so. A beautiful little curved wall on the end, there.

Kind of unique that the fanciest part is off of the main street.

Nice shots. Good luck with the challenge!

Best wishes for Happiness, Health, and Prosperity in 2022!

Cheers!
