This is a frozen portion of the Bow river. A tributary in fact. The Bow river (Bow glacier) itself originates in Banff Park, flows through Lake Louise, Canmore, Calgary, and then through Saskatchewan where it gets a name change to “South Saskatchewan”. Finally emptying into Hudson Bay, Manitoba.
