The sun began to be covered by dark clouds, this afternoon is very hot. Meantime, I don't know how long the oyster hunters have been soaking in the Cunda river of my city, which is one of the sources of livelihood for the local community, especially those who seek shellfish and oysters.
The traditional oyster-hunting activity on the Cunda River, Lhokseumawe City, is a tradition that has been passed down through generations in the local community.
These oyster hunters, who are generally fishermen or local residents, rely on traditional skills in finding oysters that live on the riverbed.
They use simple tools such as machetes and baskets to collect oysters that stick to rocks or natural substrates on the riverbed.
This activity is not only an additional livelihood, but also part of the cultural heritage preserved by coastal communities in Aceh.
One of them is in our city; the Cunda River--which flows through the coastal area of Lhokseumawe, has abundant biodiversity, one of which is oysters.
The people who live around the river are very dependent on the oyster catch for their daily needs, both for family consumption and for sale in the market.
This is the first day I turned on my camera that I have been hanging for the past few months. I tried to explore the riverbank to see the activities of oyster seekers.
Their activities caught my attention, a group of clam and oyster seekers were still in the water continuing to look for clams, while the day was starting to get calmer, previously it was quite obvious that the weather was about to enter a long dry season.
I tried to capture some images and make them as entries in this Monomad Challenge. Hopefully these images will get support from friends in the Black and White community.
In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my camera; "Hunting again", the pictures presented to my friends in Black and white Community 😉
