"Bagaikan burung di dalam sangkar" is an expression or proverb that is familiar to Indonesian people. Its mean "Like a bird in a cage". In particular, this sentence is often expressed by women whose lives are confined and restricted in their movements either by their families or by their life partners.
This expression was born from the feelings of those who live a life that is completely restricted. They just stay at home and can't go out at will. There are rules and norms that are still a priority for local people to look after their daughters, and even if a woman is too free it is considered impolite and disrespectful to their family.
Not only women, this proverb actually has a general meaning. Yes, for anyone whose life is constrained and whose space for movement is limited; can also feel the same way.
For example, a child is continuously monitored by his parents to learn and has limited freedom in all things. He certainly felt the same way "like a bird in a cage" living confined without freedom.
I took a number of pictures illustrating the life of birds in cages and made them into entries for this Monomad Challenge.
In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my camera; ""Like a bird in a cage"", Enjoy all the pictures presented to my friends in Black and white Community 😉
