Greetings friends and good Tuesday! I have always said that the city of Buenos Aires never ceases to surprise with all the places or attractions it offers and there is always something we did not know. One afternoon while walking in the neighborhood of Puerto Madero I came across a sculpture that caught my attention and that despite visiting different areas of the neighborhood I had never seen.
It is a monument to the merchant sailors, a large face or caripela that is somewhat hidden under one of the large buildings that characterize this neighborhood. It is located at the beginning of Puerto Madero and where the docks end and the most interesting thing about it is that it is not only a monument. It is also a viewpoint!
Behind this sculpture there is a staircase where you can climb up and admire the view of the port from this area also, through a hole in the sculpture I also took some pictures and there was a girl posing for some pictures 😅
I should mention aside that the monument like many others in the city has been the target of vandalism if you can express it that way, graffiti and paintings, in fact the lips and cheeks of the face were painted, an action that has always seemed disrespectful to me towards a work or a monument. However I invite you to enjoy these photos, the view and how the place looks from this viewpoint of the sculpture to the merchant seamen 😊🖤
ESPAÑOL
Saludos amigos y buen martes!
