Well Hive black and white fans doing the post for Oslob the the other day got me thinking about sharks in general and like most divers I do enjoy diving with these Apex predators. So the first shot is really one of my favourites and an Oceanic Whitetip from Daedalus in the Red Sea. Oceanics are real surface scavengers and thought to be the one of the largest reasons for shark attacks during the 2nd world war. They always seem to be accompanied by a few pilot fish who scavenge the scraps left by the shark.
Sharks come in all shapes and sizes this whale shark feeding on plankton in the lights of a diveboat in the Maldives is about 4m long and it’s mouth is about 75cm across but don’t worry they only feed on small fish and plankton.
Every now and again sharks pick up hitchhikers this remora has tagged onto a grey reef shark in Palau. To be honest the sharks don’t seem to mind.
Once in a while sharks leave you with memory’s that you never forget like this this school of hammerheads that passed through the divers in Daedalus.
That Hivers is a real once in a lifetime experience for a diver.

Indeed, seeing the sharks are once in a lifetime experience. I had the same feeling seeing the thresher sharks of Monad Shoal near Malapascua and Leyte.
I've done Monad a couple of times. Also seen them off Moalboal.
Ah yeah, I've read in the news that thresher sharks and whale sharks visited sometime in Moalboal but I've never seen them there. Not a good timing for me.
We used to see Whale sharks quite often the threshers I saw were all quite deep 50m plus but they were there quite often.
Amazing!
Perfect captures and with the black and white perspective they are interesting. Best regards !
