This is my entry for the #monomad challenge
Black and white photography has a special power - it removes colour, leaving only the play of light, texture and composition. This is what makes the image of the cat among the branches even more expressive and atmospheric.
The main character of the image is a cat that has frozen in observation. His fur merges with the surrounding chaos of branches, and his attentive gaze adds drama to the photo. The contrast of light and shadow creates a sense of depth, emphasising the textures - the roughness of the stones, the smoothness of the bark and the softness of the fur.
The black-and-white format enhances the sense of time - as if this scene exists outside of a specific moment. This is a story about the silence, alertness and harmony of the wild.
