A light in the countryside || Monomad

in Black And White6 days ago

Hello lovers of black and white, and natural scenery. A few months ago, while on vacation in San Diego, Pinar del Rio, we visited La Guira National Park. I had never been there before and I really liked the brief time we spent there. We visited it a little late and a tremendous downpour was beginning to fall. At that time, 5:00 pm all the services, or the few that there were, were already closed, so there was no guided tour and we walked around the site a little by intuition. It was a hacienda owned by a lawyer and diplomat named José Manuel Cortina and he built it in 1920. Many people still call this place Hacienda Cortina.

It is a beautiful promenade with several intermingled sculptures of European and Chinese culture. Also surrounding the promenade are some very nice wooden houses. Despite the rain we were able to see the inside of one of them and it is extremely comfortable, all wood, raised on stilts, with its original carpet. Very cozy indeed. They call it the Red House. We also saw other elements, a bell at the entrance of the promenade on the way to the Hacienda, the original house of Jose Manuel Cortina, along with several Greek-Roman style sculptures along the promenade. Unfortunately we arrived late and it was pouring rain. One good thing the wind and rain did bring, the mangoes. At the edge of the street a large number of delicious mangoes had just fallen, and since there were no visitors at that hour they were all for us. What tasty and sweet mangoes, nothing like the ones they sell in the capital. It was a visit of few sights and many mangos, undoubtedly a singular walk. With these images I want to enter the daily challenge #monomad. See you!
