Not every photo session is as pleasant as this one was. Melissa is a 20-year-old girl whose older brother gifted her a photoshoot to use for her email profile and to experience what it’s like.
No todas las sesiones de fotos son tan agradables como lo fue esta. Melissa es una chica de apenas 20 años a quien su hermano mayor le regaló una sesión de fotos para que las usara en su correo y viviera la experiencia.
During our initial phone meeting, it was her brother who did most of the talking, and Melissa barely said a few words. Because of this, I made some assumptions. At that moment, I didn’t know her age or where her brother was, but I assumed two things: 1) Melissa is likely very protected and would come with her mom or dad, and 2) Melissa might not be sure of how she looks.
Al reunirnos por vía telefónica, el hermano fue quien se comunicó más, y Melissa apenas dijo algunas palabras. Por esta razón, hice varias suposiciones. En ese momento no sabía su edad, ni dónde estaba su hermano, ni nada, pero asumí dos cosas: 1) Melissa es una chica muy protegida, por lo que seguramente vendría con su mamá o papá, y 2) quizá Melissa no está segura de cómo se ve.
I was wrong in both assumptions. On the day of the photoshoot, Melissa came alone, knew exactly what clothes she wanted to wear, and as soon as we started, she showed me how good she was at posing and looking great. The session flowed smoothly, and I was really happy with what we were capturing, but since she was young and alone, I kept my excitement in check to avoid conveying the wrong impression. However, when I showed her the photos, it was Melissa who lit up with enthusiasm, both in her eyes and words.
Me equivoqué en ambas suposiciones. El día de la sesión, Melissa vino sola, sabía qué ropa quería usar, y al empezar a tomar las fotos, me mostró sus habilidades para posar y verse bien. La sesión fluyó muy bien, y a mí me encantaba lo que estábamos logrando, pero como ella estaba sola y es joven, no fui demasiado efusivo para evitar transmitir una sensación o insinuación incorrecta. Sin embargo, cuando le mostré las fotos, fue ella quien mostró su entusiasmo con sus ojos y palabras.
Melissa loved the photos we captured, and she was very happy with the results. It was a very enjoyable session, and we both appreciated the outcome. I hope you like them too.
