These are the common areas of the building where the couple lived—or well, this is actually the entrance itself. But when we arrived, we were charmed by it. The entrance offered so much—or at least I was very drawn to it and immediately interested in taking some photos there.
Los espacios comunes del edificio donde vivía la pareja son estos, bueno, en realidad esta es la entrada propiamente dicha, pero al llegar nosotros quedamos encantados con esta entrada que ofrecía tanto, o por lo menos yo me interesé mucho en hacer unas fotos allí.
The couple hadn’t mentioned what their residential complex was like. It’s curious how something so evident to a photographer can be totally irrelevant to someone who doesn’t work in or feel passionate about photography or architecture. But this entrance gave me so much to play with—and if I’d had more time, I would’ve gotten even more out of it.
Esta pareja no nos había hablado de cómo era este conjunto residencial. Es curioso cómo un detalle tan evidente para un fotógrafo puede ser muy irrelevante para una persona que no se dedique o se apasione por la fotografía o la arquitectura. Pero esta entrada para mí me daba mucho con qué jugar, y de haber tenido más tiempo, sacaba más allí.
I’m always improvising—it’s something I’m aware of, and it’s something I truly enjoy about my work. The art of improvising with whatever resources you have isn’t a skill everyone masters. And to be honest, I don’t think I’m the best at it either—but it is a part of my personality and skill set that I lean into whenever I can.
Siempre tengo que improvisar, es algo de lo que me doy cuenta, y es algo que me gusta de mi trabajo. El arte de improvisar con los recursos que se tienen no es un arte que domine todo el mundo, y a decir verdad, no creo que sea el mejor en ello, pero sí es un aspecto de mi personalidad y habilidades que exploto siempre que puedo.
Improvising can also have a downside—but learning to do it while still maintaining a certain standard of quality is something I really value about myself.
Hacer cosas improvisadas también puede ser algo negativo, pero aprender a hacerlo manteniendo un estándar de calidad es algo que valoro mucho de mí.
