I got a twin - Monomad challenge

in Black And White6 days ago

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes

I found this twin on one of the plants that my parent has in their garden. It is not just an ornamental plant, but somehow they will use the leaf for the occasional ceremony as part of the offering.

But despite that the plant has one big enemy, and they can look pretty intimidating although they are practically harmless. They are the caterpillar, which we locally called Geeng Temen, or translated as the caterpillar of Temen plant as the plant it was feeding on is called Temen

This caterpillar is actually the caterpillar of Doleschallia bisaltide. Doleschallia bisaltide, the autumn leaf, is a nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australasia. In Australia it is also known as the leafwing.

Although it is funny that I use a photo of the single caterpillar but with a twin title. But yeah, so you have the idea of this guy when it is alone, and when they are with their siblings.

Just like most of the caterpillars, they will usually hatched at the same time, so they also grow at almost the same rate. Then you will find a lot of their twins in your plant.

In this post, I tried to showcase the twin of this caterpillar, which was stayed side by side on a single leaf when I found them. You can also see the destruction it caused on the leaf that they are resting on.
