We visited Teversal Trail where you can walk or cycle along the former railway lines and around the lovely country park and nature reserve.
Once upon a time, Pleasley Colliery was situated here, but after the pit closed in 1983, volunteers saved it from demolition, and it is now a mining museum. A lot of pits got closed down at the same time, so it's good that a part of our history has been saved. A former industrial site that has nicely merged with nature.
There is also a nice little cafe at the Visitor Centre. This bulldog was called Spencer.
This is my entry to the @monomad contest.
