my entry to the monomad challenge was taken on the rocks by the sea at Hummerbakken. The exposed rock has been worn and carved by the movement of glaciers over the surface
the first shot features a lobster trap buoy. occasionally during an autumn storm the rope of the trap breaks and the buoy washes up on the coast. there is a number on the buoy that reveals which trap it was attached to and who owned it but the buoy has been here presumably undiscovered for several years if not more. sadly the trap remains on the bottom of the sea and as long as there was bait in it any unsuspecting lobster(s) could become stuck inside
there are large crystals of larvikite in places. i wish i could tell more bout the geology of this place. the solid rock has striking variations with layering from different ages. lichens grow on some of the surface and pioneer species of plants manage to survive in the cracks.
the ice that forms in the cracks during the winter expands. over time the cracks become far bigger and pieces of the rock split apart but there are very few loose rocks here
it's hard to imagine what caused this scraping but i am sure it was not done by humans
i took all of all of these shots in color and edited them to black and white on my S22 phone. i kept a slight color saturation in this last shot.
Your S22 has a very good camera
The pictures are nice
