I have been here many times and each visit is different in mood and atmosphere. I often dream of this place. But for the first time I mentally visited here when, as a child, I examined a small book "Totma. Solvychegodsk. Veliky Ustyug".
The book was in places dark, in places atmospheric black and white shots.
I believe that those old pictures in that book served as a kind of splash in order for me to become involved in photography.
This time the Spaso-Sumorin Monastery, which is located on the outskirts of Totma, met with a gray haze.
While processing the pictures, I suddenly came to the idea that I want to take photos in black and white.
I often dream of dilapidated monastic cells in my dreams. I was inside once.
But most of all I am attracted by the turret, which stands on the steep bank of a small river.
A wooden bridge leads to it.
And there are bells inside!
For the first time, I managed to climb to the topmost tier of this bell tower and capture the surrounding views.
Spaso-Sumorin is an active male monastery at the stage of restoration.
The process is slow, but the main Transfiguration Cathedral has already been completely restored.
Near the temple on the ground lies an old cartouche.
Whenever possible, I immediately go to this place.
I really hoped that I could once again take a walk through the abandoned cells until they were reconstructed.
But I didn't manage to do it.
The walk was incomplete.
