This little beasty is so photogenic!
I have two plants and I did show it in colour a couple of weeks ago when it started to bloom. You can check in this post.
Those first those photographs are of a younger plat. The leaves are not full of ripples as from the older one I have. When I got it it was much smaller and it barely had any spots too. They do show more as the plant grows and matures.
A baby shark :)
The older plant look like it would wanna kill everything around. There is much textures on the leaves! They would normally be dark green, but when stressed due to too much cold or sun they get this purplish shades.
All those spots, ripples and contrasting colours are just asking to be stripped from colours. And who am I to say no? :p
The spots look so much better in black and white.
The flowers are bright yellow and have the same shape as the Ice Plants I have. They will close for the night and open when the day is sunny.
Monochrome song for today:

All photos and text are my own.
I like Faucaria for its unusual look.
Great black and white photos!
Yea me too. And it needs very little care, which is nice too :)
Thank you!
I have some of them dead :-(
Oh no :(
I will have to start some spring cleaning and check the cacti before the season. I already found one dead :/
Be sure to check!
I'm wondering how would Google lense recognize it? :D
I dont even have google lense to check :p Baby shark could come up.... :D
It is Faucaria Tuberculosa
You aren't fun at all :P
Oh, the name sounds a bit dangerous according to appearence. My friend is a huge fan of succulents and other tiny, spiky plants.
Nope.. not a tiny bit of fun in me.

We have the impression that it is insects, the first photos .
It's a carnivorous plant, right?
Magnificent!
Thank you for sharing.
Oh no.. it's a very peaceful succulent :)
A little beasty with a baby's heart!
Super photogenic little creature indeed! B&W looks good on it, a bit more vicious though, haha! Such a totally different feeling from the colored version! Awesome!
Love the song, too!!!
That! :))
Such innocent things can look so different from another perspective :p
Yay! Glad you did.

I tought it is a killer plant that attract insect and killed it.
but it is not, looks a bit scary tough, but the flower looks nice. :)
Hahah it does look like that :D It's perfectly safe though!
Beautiful work, you thoroughly explored the shapes available in those small plants. You have managed to do more than others could accomplish with that type of subject... "baby shark"...hahahaha :) Really nice!... I like a lot...
Thanks a lot! :)
One of the advantages of growing them and having them all at hand all the time - I can turn them and shoot whatever I want.
Is this also a cactus shrub?. I also like white and black photographs more. Its clarity is increasingly evident.
It's a succulent plant. I am not sure if this would be a local common name for it...
Thank you :)
Nice song you did choose there to accompany these pictures 😍 Love the lightning at the first picture. Think I prefer the B&W version above your color versions shows the structure of the plants better.
Thank you! Some things just need to be shown in B&W.
Exactly!
Glad you liked the song too :)
I do appreciate your comments all over as I see them often on different posts, but it's kind of nah-nah when you are just copying/pasting the same all over endlessly just for the sake of it. Few honest words won't kill anyone.
Best regards
Thank you :)
