Do you guys know this one?
Quacking grass or Briza is one of the most common grasses around here. And it is also one of the most photographed grass by me :) Besides the fluffy ones that look like little bunnies on sticks.
During the blooming time the flowers are light green. Later they all dry up and turn to light geryish-beige type of colour. The interesting part about it is that it makes a very cool sound when it is windy. Something like a very delicate rattle.
The flowers are made of layers of shells connected to each other at the top. They are empty inside which makes the super light.
Grass, weed - call it as you want. It is a cool one!
Bonus shot for today
Little fly I found resting on top a mushroom.

You have such a great eye. I'd walk right by these things, and here they are stunningly beautiful. I can hear them too. Nice post!
Thank you! I guess I am used to look at all the weird thing people don't normally pay attention to :)
I don't think I've ever heard of Rattle Grass. I love these.
Oh they are so cool! And this is the smaller type. There is another one that is 3 times the size :)
Super pretty :)
