We had an outdoor photoshoot in a forest park. The star of the show was a little boy named Arad, just one year old, dressed in a cute, cozy autumn outfit. He wore a fun hat adorned with pom-poms and a soft, knitted scarf. Arad’s round, chubby face was absolutely adorable, a feature that made him truly unforgettable. His sweet demeanor and perfect weight meant he was comfortable in his warm little outfit, without needing any extra layers. With the help of his mom, we got him all ready for the shoot.
This photoshoot had a more candid, paparazzi-style feel to it, and we captured most of our shots from a distance. One of the most endearing things about these photos is how Arad wore his hat: pulled down a little too far, covering his eyes. In a couple of shots, we see Arad standing, his adorable bear hat with its pom-poms perched on his head, paired with a light-colored cotton pants. He looks right at home in his surroundings, gazing around curiously. The fallen autumn leaves under his feet provided a beautiful backdrop, and even though we edited the photos in black and white, the sunlight created a lovely rim light around Arad.
The key to photographing children is patience. They have a knack for striking the perfect pose at the most unexpected moments, so all we have to do is be ready to capture those precious instants. It's important to choose a suitable time for the shoot, ensuring the child is comfortable with the weather and surroundings. Having a familiar adult present can also help the child feel safe and relaxed, making it easier to capture genuine expressions.
There’s one particularly cute shot where Arad’s eyes are almost completely hidden by his hat, and we can only see his adorable chubby cheeks and pouty lips as he looks off to the side. As a female photographer, I have a deep fondness for all the children I photograph. I always try to connect with them on a personal level, making them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. It’s my goal to capture their unique personalities and create lasting memories for their families.
We took some of the photos near a pond, but because I was using an 85mm lens and focusing mainly on Arad, the surroundings are a bit blurred.
However, you can see a glimpse of the pond in the background of one of the shots. It was a truly wonderful day, and I hope you all have many more days like it.
until the next post. Goodbye.
