This is a bit of an unusual post to Hive for me and the first time in ages since I posted any black and whites images. Today we took a road trip to Birmingham in the UK to photograph an area known to me as The Custard Factory.
The Custard Factory was originally the location for a famous custard works, Birds Custard. I'm not a connoisseur of custard in the slightest but the buildings left behind have been returned to use as an art space and collection of boutiques and even a flea market.
Amongst all the nooks and crannies around the factory are various graffiti artworks of wildly differing quality.
This is a random post of images captured today and is my entry in to Monomad on Hive:
Falling for Custard
Somewhere amongst the old factory buildings is a gallery known as the The Art Space. I ventured inside with a rather large camera and lens expecting to be thrown out because photography isn't allowed. But being in that weird space between Christmas and New Year, there was no-one around to hassle me off the premises.
This sculpture of life size figures suspended from the ceiling was the main reason for my visit here. I should be happy with just one image but I inadvertently shot 30 versions. Here's three:
Finding Imogen
Inside the Art Space gallery I came across an exhibition of works by @imogenmorrisart (On Instagram). It seems a bit cheeky to photograph someone else's art in this way but I'm sure I'm not the first or only one. Here's a few examples:
Graff Unknown
Outside the gallery and dotted around the Custard Factory site are various graffiti artworks by unknown to me artists. It's been more than two years since I visited the Custard Factory and I was surprised to see not many of the works have changed or even been tagged for that matter. A few examples:

About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I like to collaborate with other photographers and occassionally shoot outside my comfort zone.
