Continuing my black and white series, this is a collection of lightpainting shots converted to monochrome and look all the better for it!
This shot was originally titled, "Handroid" but in black and white it looks more an x-ray of my hand:
This is what happens when you throw a couple of smoke pellets in a cave and ask a willing victim (aka volunteer) to pose in front of a flashgun and a laser beam:
I'm a big fan of camera rotation photography where the camera is rotated on it's lens axis. This is a continuous single photographic exposure where the camera was rotated four ways at 90 degree increments. I shot this in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire and lit the trees in the dark at each rotation:
This image was the result of a kitchen based lightpainting session with an iPad image of a skull kinetically panned and then lens swapped to a backlit circuit board for a spot of zoom pulling. Definitely the kind of shot to give me a dose of OCD in lining this up!
And finally, another kitchen based lightpainting session with the circuit board tilted away from the camera and shot with macro extension tubes for the shallow dept of field and the complex bokeh this lens combination produces:
All of the above images were shot in one photographic exposure and are not Photoshop creations apart from the obvious conversion to mono....
About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
