Like a little princess

Some pictures are "screaming" for monochrome edit, like the one above. The minute I saw it through the viewfinder of my camera, I knew this was going to be a black and white photograph. I also knew that it would probably be my opening image for a monochrome tour at the citadel of Mycenae, one of the most important archeological sites in Argolida region and Greece altogether.

I was there last Sunday and I have already shared some of the pictures taken that same day in this post. But even if you have read it, keep scrolling, there is a whole bunch of unpublished pictures for you to see!

As I said in my previous post, the weather was a bit cloudy. A small disadvantage for colour pictures but an absolute advantage for the monochromatic, black and white edit. And the ruins of this old and thriving at its time, civilisation look great in this colourless illustration, don't they?

I kept moving around, searching for figures, shapes and textures to capture, in an attempt to catch the feeling rather than illustrate descriptively the place. Hopefully you'll get what I mean. Or at least enjoy the pictures :)

I saw that little girl as I was leaving, just in time to take the last shot. She was entering the citadel hoping in a charmingly inappropriate way, like a little princess entering her kingdom :)

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

I used for this shooting a Canon EOS 6D mark II and the Canon lenses EF 16-35mm f4L, EF 24-105mm f4L and my favourite oldie from the 80s, a black EF 80-200 f2.8L. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .

All the pictures and the words are mine.

Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.

Commenting, upvoting and rebloging are highly appreciated!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

These views are truly unique. Only an Indian can understand what look in the black and white frame can change!!

I am glad you like them!

Thank you for stopping by @azamsohrabi :)

Beautiful ! I find that with materials like stone, or sand, the textures pop out better when the photos are black and white, or at least monochromatic. In color photos my eyes seem to skip the coarse textures, especially if it is very colorful.

Yes, you are probably right!

Thanks :)

Dear friend, can you send me the link of the black and white group in Discord???

I am not using Discord so I wouldn't know. Maybe you should ask one of the team members. Their names are on the Black And White community page.

Thank you for replying
