Twisting in my mind

in Black And White8 months ago

Even when I was living in a big city, I tended to create my own microcosm. A handful of friends, a couple of favourite places to go out to and a few favourite walking routes. Out of a vast city, I was using just a tiny fraction of it, during my daily routine. Occasionally it so happened, work or other obligations to make me move out of my everyday habits and find myself in other parts of the city but that was the exception, not the rule.

So now that I am living in a very small town, it doesn't really feel small at all. I have everything I need to built, for one more time, a microcosm to surround me and host my daily routine :)

The beach, the abandoned hotel, the blooming hillside and a few walking routes are the new elements that I am using to create my small, personal world and they are more than enough. At least for now!

Let's not forget that apart from the tendency to create microcosms, I also tend to move periodically and change radically my life :)

Of course there are some invariables that stay with me no matter how big the changes in my daily life are. Like my little obsessions or the camera in my hand :)

And my love for blooming almond trees!

Actually it is a rather interesting question. How much our surrounding is affecting us and in what degree why carry around our personal problems and fixations, no matter where we go. After many moves and many changes, I haven't found any easy answer in this query.

But it keeps twisting in my mind every now and then.

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 850D with an EF-S 18-135mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

I feel a little familiar with what you say, I tend to get away from cities as often as I can and I have moved many times.

We may have small worlds over the years but... If we drag the things that affect us and those fixations we will be in the same (internal) place even if we change landscapes.

I really liked reading this and starting the day with your words and excellent photos :)

Have a great start of the week @fotostef friend!

Just as you were about to say it, I thought 'but you have moved a lot'. It takes forever sometimes to find a forever home..

It takes forever sometimes to find a forever home..

That's a good one!

Sometimes I wonder if I'll stop moving because I have found the right place or because I'll be too old/tired to keep moving.

I definitely think it's because you get fed up and tired hahaha ..

a bit self-centered kind of person

Thank you very much, I am glad you liked them :)

We carry everything with us (everywhere) unless we decide to let go.

There are good and bad obsessions.

Hey, how beautiful this post is!

Thanks a lot!

Of course we carry everything with us. Realising that we carry them is a good start but getting rid of them is a whole different story.
