The castle
Yesterday we went to see caste Doorwerth.
The castle has been there for hubdreds of years, so it has a rich history and many owners over the years.
During WW2 there were some heavy fights in that area and the castle was heavily damaged. In the years after the war they restored the castle in all its glory from the 17th century.
The photos
During the visit I immediately thought of black and white photos to make it look an old photo as well.
I've been playing around with some settings in Snapseed and ended up using the noir effect which resulted in the following photos. I hope you like the results.
A small wooden bridge over the moat at the backside of the castle allows us to enter the courtyard of the castle.
We made a nice walk around the castle. Here you can see that the castle has been nicely restored. I'm submitting this photo for the #monomad challenge by the way.
This is the backside of the castle. The 'shaft' on the left side of the castle is the toilet which is just a hole. The excrements just drop down into the moat.
Here is a photo of one of the towers of the castle.
I hope you liked my little black and white experiment.
