Way back on February 6, 2012, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck some parts of the Visayas islands, including my place, Cebu City. It was a bad, crazy day. I was an intern at a hotel at that time. I was in the laundry area about to take my lunch when, all of a sudden, the building started moving like I was riding a plane in turbulence. It was a scary day. I didn’t know what to do since I had never experienced an earthquake drill before. I always share that story with my students because being alert during unpredictable calamities like earthquakes is really important.
Today was a productive day with my students. The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM) prepared a program for an earthquake and fire drill so that students know what to do during calamities or tragedies. These kinds of activities are really important for the school and the community.
Since I was assigned to document the event, I had the opportunity to capture some photographs of it. I want to share them with the Monomad community. I rarely share photographs my beloved community because I am so busy with my family and work. But I always find time during my free moments to share some of the photographs from my journey at work.
Take care always everyone.
