From a photographic point of view, at the first moment we observe something closely, there is a lot to tell and in different ways. There are experiences where the black and white image speaks for itself, an aesthetic that reveals that desaturation will be the best way to communicate the image. The mental structure behind the lens designs compositions different from those we might use for color photography, visualizing the development, highlighting textures and contrasts to increase the photographic intention.
El ruido del color nos ayuda a centrarnos en lo verdaderamente importante, destacando así la narrativa relevante de cada movimiento. El teatro me ha ayudado a mucho a entender estas cosas, ha sido un ejercicio interesante hacer fotografía de teatro con frecuencia. En la Sala de Grillo de Atabanza, la iluminación ha sido una herramienta primordial de gran ayuda para lograr buenas fotografías, un trabajo de mucha delicadeza, adaptado a cada obra, para crear equilibradas atmósferas en las escenas.
Color noise helps us to focus on what is really important, thus highlighting the relevant narrative of each movement. Theater has helped me a lot to understand these things, it has been an interesting exercise to do theater photography frequently. In Atabanza's Sala de Grillo, lighting has been a primary tool of great help to achieve good photographs, a work of great delicacy, adapted to each play, to create balanced atmospheres in the scenes.
Las fotografías en blanco y negro me gusta mucho para los detalles, y más allá de la puesta en escena y de los personajes, considero que el registro visual se complementa y toma una dimensión más profunda. Aislarse del color ofrece a la imagen una simplicidad sin igual, es una sensación de hacer transcender el momento presente para perpetuarlo en el tiempo; sin duda todo se amplifica. El minimalismo de esta obra fue el detonante para tomar la decisión de revelar en blanco y negro desde el primer momento que vi el escenario. Al parecer fue bastante acertada la decisión; se destaca muy bien los elementos significativos de la obra, y de las expresiones de la actriz.
I like black and white photographs very much for the details, and beyond the staging and the characters, I consider that the visual register is complemented and takes on a deeper dimension. Isolating oneself from color gives the image an unparalleled simplicity, it is a sensation of transcending the present moment to perpetuate it in time; everything is undoubtedly amplified. The minimalism of this work was the trigger to make the decision to develop in black and white from the first moment I saw the scene. It seems to have been the right decision; it highlights very well the significant elements of the play, and the expressions of the actress.

It is a process that leads the viewer to experience the work from another perspective, perhaps more emotional and intimate. It is a process that combines the majesty of theater and photographic art.
