815km in 12 hours

Today's post is about the Isuzu truck which we took from Gurgaon to Longewala. We drove the truck for 815 km to reach Jaisalmer, this journey took us 12 hours. Jaisalmer is not only the largest district of Rajasthan but also of India and Longewala is 111 km away from here. We Indians remember Longewala because of the Indo-Pak war of 1971.

Well, as soon as we left Gurgaon, the first thing we did was to fill the tank of the truck with diesel, on the way we had to fill the tank 3 times. According to this, the average mileage of the truck was 13 km per liter. We reached Jaisalmer after 12 hours, that day was 12 December 2024 and we checked in at Hanumangarh Hotel. As soon as we lay down on the bed after dinner, deep sleep took us in its embrace.

Yesterday we did not click a single photo of the way, because the road was long and we had less time. Today we have to go to Longewala to visit the War Memorial there. We have already been to Longewala many times but today we are going again because we have to meet a friend of ours who is in BSF and is posted at Longewala.

Leaving the hotel at 6 o'clock, we crossed Asutar. Sunrise is happening here and there are sand dunes here, so keeping in mind the right place and right time, we stop the truck so that we can click some photos. Although I had not brought the camera charged and neither did I charge it this morning, but I managed to click some photos before the battery got drained. I was sad because the sunrise was happening in a very supernatural way from the horizon.

Today, leaving aside other photos, we will focus only on the Toyota Isuzu truck. While editing in Lightroom, I did not understand how the result would be in converting such a wonderful place to black and white, but despite my negative thinking, I edited the photos and have presented the result in front of you. I hope you liked today's photos.

This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
