In today's black and white post, I am going to show you the mountains located around a Hindu temple located in the north of India. This Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and its name is 'Tungnath Temple'. This temple is very old and its height is 3600 meters. This temple has the title of being the highest place among all Shiva temples.
Uttarakhand state is located in the north of India, which is also called Devbhoomi. And it is located in Chopta in Uttarakhand. Tungnath temple is located at a walking distance of 6 km from Chopta. And if we go 1.5 km up from Tungnath temple, we reach Chandrashila top where the height is 4000 meters. I have visited this place a total of three times and every time I have visited in winter.
When I left home, I had no idea that there would be so much snow on the trail, it was good that I had brought my trail running shoes due to which it was very easy to walk on the snow. The forest was buried in snow, the trail was hidden in snow and the soul gets tired going above the tree line. Even in this cold, my jacket was wet.
I had to struggle a lot to walk 6 km, there was no shop open on the way and no other facility was available. I had taken 2 liters of water with me from Chopta which I kept drinking all the way. My 2 liters of water lasted till Chandrashila and on the way back I descended quickly so I did not feel the need of water much.
While descending, snow entered through the mesh of my shoes due to which my socks got wet and I felt cold while descending. After descending, I took out dry socks and shoes from my bag. Anyone can easily get frost bite in such cold, so I kept this in mind and wore dry shoes and socks.
This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
