Road buried under sand

Today's black and white post is dedicated to the photos clicked while going from Jaisalmer to Longewala. The distance from Jaisalmer to Longewala is 112 km and at many places on the way, there is so much sand on the road that the tar road gets buried under the sand. Not only this, many times the vehicles here become dead for many months because this place is at least 100 km away from the city.

Rajasthan state is located in the North of India and Jaisalmer is a district in Rajasthan which is the biggest district of India. To reach here, one can come from Delhi by train, plane and road. In summers, the air route is not used because no tourist comes here in the 50-56 degree temperature, so the air route is closed.

If we go 20 km further on these sand filled roads of the international border, we will reach the Pakistan border. A huge war was fought in 1971 on these roads buried in sand. Even today, army convoys run here. This road is used to deliver ration material to the soldiers posted in the border area.

We were here early in the morning and on one side the sun was rising while on the other side some tanks were passing, photography of which is prohibited, so I did not click any picture even though I wanted to. You can clearly see the marks of the tank's tyres on the road. This is an amazing place, the sun is rising from the horizon and the moon is shining in the sky. I was very happy to see this supernatural view. Were you also happy with the photos of this post?

This is my entry for #monomad challenge.

The road is indeed covered with sand! It must have been a tough ride, but the scene was captured beautifully.
