Tostado (Traditional way of Baking Filipino Cookies) | #Monomad Challenge

in Black And White3 years ago

Hello there #blackandwhite community may everyone had a great weekend and hope all are well and safe from the virus. For todays content I will be sharing the traditional way of baking Filipino cookies which commonly known in Visayan dialect as Tostado. Oven toaster is the common household appliance used if you are going to bake something it may be cakes or cookies, but here in Philippines especially in Visayas region locals are making a make shift oven that are usually made from metal sheets formed into a rectangular box depending on the size and what you are baking. Like these photos that I will be sharing.

Tostado is topped with little amount of sugar and is ready to place in make shift oven.

As you can see the makeshift oven had flame on its top, the woman was using a gloves in placing the tostado because the oven is already hot on that moment.

They were using old coconut husk to produce temperature on top and bottom of makeshift oven, and usually coconut husk on the and coconut shell at the bottom.

After a couple of minutes Tostado is ready to serve and pack.
