Today I woke up at 4:00 AM and was in bed watching some news on my cell phone until 5:00 AM. It seems to me that doing this was not a good idea, the world is really complicated these days and watching news might not be the best way to start the day. But this is an old habit that is still with me from my days as an employee in a corporation, when I had to drive for about 90 minutes and sometimes more to get to my office. Then I used to turn on the radio and listen to the national and international news while I was immersed in the car traffic... Nowadays I don't listen to news on a daily basis, but today I did it almost without realizing it...
Hoy desperté a las 4:00 AM y estuve en mi cama mirando algunas noticias en mi móvil hasta las 5:00 AM. Me parece que hacer esto no fue una buena idea, el mundo está realmente complicado estos días y ver noticias quizás no sea la mejor manera de comenzar el día. Pero esta es una vieja costumbre que aún sigue en mí desde mis tiempos como empleado en una corporación, cuando tenía que manejar durante unos 90 minutos y a veces más para llegar a mi oficina. Entonces yo solía encenderla radio y escuchar las noticias nacionales e internacionales mientras me sumergía en el tráfico automotor... Hoy por hoy no escucho noticias diariamente, pero hoy lo hice casi sin percatarme de ello...

After my stupid idea of watching the news, I got up from my bed, washed my face, prepared a lovely, hot and frothy coffee with milk, fed my “herd” of cats and dogs, watered the plants and had bread and cereal for breakfast... Around 7:00 AM I decided to finish off the remaining discomfort caused by watching the news with a long morning walk through the streets of my town... So I told my wife about my decision and went out the door of my garage to wander with no fixed direction... I went out without my camera, but just after walking a couple of blocks I went back to my house to get it... In reality, at this point in my life, I don't feel comfortable walking the streets of my town without my camera hanging around my neck... So that's how today “happened” this handful of pictures to share with you today on #Hive... ;)
Después de mi tonta idea de dedicarme a ver noticias, me alcé de mi cama, me lavé el rostro, preparé un encantador, caliente y espumoso café con leche, di de comer a mi "manada" de gatos y perros, regué las plantas y desayuné pan y cereales... Ya cerca de las 7:00 AM decidí terminar de combatir el malestar remanente producto del haber visto noticias, con una larga caminata mañanera por las calles del pueblo... Así que le avisé a mi esposa respecto a mi decisión y salí por la puerta de mi garaje a deambular sin rumbo fijo... Salí sin mi cámara, pero apenas después de haber caminado un par de calles retorné a mi casa para buscarla... En realidad, a estas alturas de mi vida, no me siento cómodo caminando por las calles de mi pueblo sin llevar mi cámara colgada al cuello... Así fue como hoy "sucedieron" esta puñado de fotografías para compartir con ustedes hoy en #Hive... ;)

These photos are of the most everyday things, but that same everydayness was very useful to me to finish dissolving into oblivion the emotional fatigue that came from having seen too much news too early in the morning... That's why I do this often, it serves me well for many things, even to “straighten up” my day when it seems to have started a bit crooked.... Besides, this town always seems to hold something good to photograph.... I've said it before: “If I hadn't always lived here, then I would have moved here to take pictures” ;)
Estas fotos son de lo más cotidiano, pero esa misma cotidianidad me fue muy útil para terminar de disolver en el olvido el cansancio emocional que me produjo el haber visto noticias en demasiada cantidad y demasiado temprano... Por eso hago esto con frecuencia, me sirve para muchas cosas, incluso para "enderezar" mi día cuando parece haber comenzado un poco torcido... Además, este pueblo siempre parece guardar algo bueno para fotografiar... Ya lo he dicho antes: "Si no hubiese vivido siempre aquí, entonces me hubiese mudado aquí para hacer fotografías" ;)

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Últimamente he optado por preocuparme de lo que ocurre en mi entorno inmediato, uno suele volverse medio loco cuando ve el desastre que ocurre en el mundo, la fotografía también es mi mejor forma de conectar el presente.
