It's no secret to anyone who follows my #Hive blog that my streets are full of dogs and cats. It's also no wonder that I take a lot of photos of these lovely creatures whenever I'm out and about in the streets of my town.... I grew up with dogs as pets, my father loved them and so did my mother.... Cats came into my life for good only about 7 or 8 years ago when I found abandoned kittens at the door of my garage... Today they are an integral part of my life, I can say it without the slightest hint of doubt, I don't think I can understand myself without having the miracle of a dog's or a cat's gaze every day. I learnt to love the strays as well as the ones in our house, over the years I learnt to greet them, to talk to them and to cry when I know they are gone... The streets are a universe of wonderful things happening and that's why I love to take street photos, but undoubtedly, these streets would be very empty without the constant presence of dogs and cats... Para nadie que siga mi blog en #Hive es un secreto que mis calles están repletas de perros y de gatos. Tampoco es de extrañarse el que les haga a estas encantadoras criaturas un montón de fotos siempre que salgo a recorrer las calles de mi pueblo... Crecí teniendo perros como mascotas, mi padre los amaba y mi madre también... Los gatos llegaron en forma definitiva a mi vida apenas unos 7 u 8 años atrás cuando encontré gatitos abandonados en la puerta de mi garaje... Hoy por hoy forman parte integral de mi vida, puedo decirlo sin el menor atisbo de duda, no creo poder entenderme a mi mismo sin tener a diario el milagro de la irada de un perro o de un gato. Aprendí a amar también a los callejeros como a los de nuestra casa, con el paso de los años aprendí a saludarlos, a hablar con ellos y a llorar cuando sé que ya no están... Las calles son un universo de cosas maravillosas ocurriendo y por eso es que amo hacer fotos callejeras, pero indudablemente, estas calles estarían muy vacías sin la constante presencia de perros y gatos... Certainly beautiful... Also, from my particular point of view, I think that stray cats and dogs (and any animal in itself, that we find anywhere) are a kind of ‘thermometer’ to know how correct we are being based on what the presence of these living beings makes appear in us. In my case, there is something of a "like a little child" when I look at them and I am immediately deprived of a lot of caution and standards regarding what should be the behaviour of a more or less normal person on the streets. I like to sit on the pavement and talk to them, I like to give them names and I like to go over and over specific streets to see how they are doing... Here it is common for people in the neighbourhoods to feed these creatures and there is even a kind of "symbiosis" between the neighbours and the dogs and cats. So a lot of these are semi-stray or semi-homeless depending on how you look at it... There is something a bit funny, people here say things like: "The inhabitants of this village are known everywhere in the world because they drive their cars looking to see if there is a dog or a cat in the street" hahaha :))... We call ourselves colloquially "Montalbaneros", so there is another funny saying that goes: "Montalbaneros are known everywhere, because they know how to talk to dogs" and my father, who was born in Caracas the capital city of the country, used to say something like: "In this town there are more dogs than people, that makes it much better than Caracas"...

Ciertamente hermosos... Además, desde mi particular parecer, creo que los gatos y perros callejeros (y todo animal en sí, que nos encontremos en cualquier lugar) son una especie de "termómetro" para saber que tan correcto estamos siendo basándonos en lo que la presencia de estos seres vivos haga aparecer en nosotros. En mi caso hay algo de "aniñamiento" cuando los miro y de inmediato me veo privado de un montón de cautelas y estándares relativo a lo que debería ser el comportamiento de una personas más o menos normal estando en una calles. Me gusta sentarme en el pavimento y hablarles, me gusta darles nombres y me gusta pasar una y otra vez por calles específicas para saber como les está yendo... Aquí es común que las personas en los vecindarios den de comer a estas criaturas e incluso hay una especie de "simbiosis" entre los vecinos y los perros y gatos. Así que muchos de estos son semi-callejeros o semi-hogareños según se vea... Hay algo que da un poco de risa, las personas aquí dicen cosas como: "Los habitantes de este pueblo se conocen en cualquier parte del mundo porque manejan sus autos mirando a ver si hay un perro o un gato en la calle" hahaha :))... Nosotros nos llamamos a nosotros mismos coloquialmente "Montalbaneros", así que hay otro dicho gracioso que dice: "Los Motalbaneros se conocen en cualquier lugar, porque saben hablar con perros" y mi padre, quien era nacido en Carcas la ciudad capital del país, solía decir algo como: "En este pueblo hay más perros que personas, eso lo hace mucho mejor que Caracas"...
