Street photography forces me to be attentive; some things that might seem very simple are potential photographs that can be loaded with meaning, tell a story, impact the eye.... Sometimes it's not the whole scene but a certain space that you have to know how to recognise... I tend to think of street photographers as a kind of "ninja" whose senses are developed beyond the normal and whose instinct is a kind of "super power"; well, surely that happens with all types of photography, but it seems to me that street photography has the additional difficulty of being highly unpredictable...

"Dario thinks in the corner" / "Darío piensa en la esquina"

My first four photos in this post, are a clear example of how unpredictable the streets are for me.... In the first photo that boy was looking at me in the middle of the block while I was crossing the corner, I was about to overlook him and not take a picture. However, upon noticing him, I instinctively stepped into the street and fired off a short burst... Martin preparing canes to build kites, a photo I would not have taken because I see him almost every day, but this time Martin had a rickety fan there which attracted my attention and made me take this photo... When I was a little boy of only 7 or 8 years old I used to go into the warehouse of my maternal grandfather and my uncle (both called Marcos by the way) and there worked Ñaño, who at that time (1978) was already more than 30 years old; that is why I never cease to be surprised by his spectacular physical shape at 76 years old... Life is not so good for Darío, my mother's first cousin and therefore a very close relative of mine, who lost his eldest son (my friend by the way) a decade ago due to a painful illness. Dario seems to remember his son in every corner where he sits down to pass the time...

"A pigeon as if angry" / "Un pichón como enfadado"

David started studying computer science with me in 1987, but after a couple of semesters he dropped out of university and started working on his own. I saw him do many things, from being a truck driver, to working as a bricklayer and even what he does now, owning several mobile frappé machines and renting them out to people who go around the streets of the village (and even nearby hamlets) selling their products; I have a pending task to take some photos of David's vendors... A man carrying a jerry can with water is something usual here in Montalbán, but being surrounded by crosses there is a kind of "implicit message in the scene", so I took this photo which I loved... A dog seems to have escaped from a house where he was tied up, I'm happy for him, it's better to roam the streets than to be deprived of freedom like this... And finally that strange pigeon which seems to be angry and just walks around without wanting to fly !... ;)

The photo of the crosses immediately caught my attention. And yes, what you underline about the unpredictability of the streets is very true. It seems like a gear that moves its parts to make the scene it puts in front of you. Great 👌🏻

Thank you very much for your always lovely visit and comment!... This is motivating!... Greetings and big hugs @nanixxx friend!!!
