Through my camera lens, life in this town goes by in a parsimonious, almost predictable way... I usually walk through the streets, feeling myself a privileged observer and sometimes a bit alien to what I call ‘necessary everyday life’... While I steal moments by clicking the shutter, a lot of little stories take shape in my head and are stored there to accompany my photographs when I process them and then share them with you here in #Hive... A través del lente de mi cámara la vida en este pueblo discurre de manera parsimoniosa, casi predecible... Yo suelo caminar por las calles sitiándome un observador privilegiado y a veces un tanto ajeno a eso que llamo "cotidianidad necesaria"... Mientras robo momentos disparando el obturador, un montón de pequeñas historias y van tomando forma en mi cabeza y quedándose allí guardadas para después acompañar mis fotografías cuando las proceso y luego comparto con ustedes aquí en #Hive... Oswaldo gets ready to leave home on his old bicycle, carrying some bags and buckets in which he collects rubbish from the houses to feed his pigs. Oswaldo always does what is necessary to earn a living, during the afternoons he sells spices that he grows himself in his backyard... Carlos carries on his back a toy cart made of plastic, the kind that children use, which looks like a scooter with a steering wheel. When I ask Carlos what he will use the toy for, he replies: "I found it in a garbage dump, I'll sell it to someone to use it as fuel to start the fires in the cookers, since there's a shortage of gas-oil that's how it's done"... I'm about to pass in front of the glass shop and I hear someone whistling down the street behind me, I also hear the typical noise of the tyres of a bicycle on the street, so I prepare a photo almost by instinct, I frame a piece of the sign of the glass shop and I hope that the man on the bicycle is behind, then "click!" I have one of those rare photos that only I find... In Farriar Street the pack has a new boss apparently, it's a big dog, with a look of few friends, he watches me suspiciously while the other dogs seem to tell him: "No problem, it's the crazy guy with the camera in hand, he's inoffensive"...
Oswaldo se dispone a salir de casa en su vieja bicicleta, lleva algunas bolsas y cubetas en donde recoge desperdicios de las casas para dar de comer a su cerdos. Oswaldo siempre hace lo necesario para ganarse su sustento, durante las tardes vende especies que el mismo cultiva en su patio... Carlos lleva sobre su espalda un carrito de juguete hecho de plástico, de eso que usan los niños y parece un patinete con volante. Cuando le pregunto acerca del uso que dará a ese juguete Carlos contesta: "Lo encontré en un basurero, lo venderé a alguien para que lo use como combustible para arrancar el fuego de los fogones, desde que hay escasez de gas-oil es así como se hace"... Estoy a punto de pasar en frente de la cristalería y escucho alguien silbando por la calle detrás de mi, también escucho el ruido típico de los neumáticos de una bicicleta sobre la calle, así que preparo una foto casi por instinto, encuadro un pedazo del letrero de la cristalería y espero que que el hombre en la bicicleta esté detrás, entonces "¡click!" tengo una de esas fotos raras que solo yo encuentro... En la Calle Farriar la manada tiene un nuevo jefe al parecer, es un perro grande, con mirada de pocos amigos, me observa con recelo mientras los otros perros parecen decirle: "No hay problema, es el tipo loco con la cámara en la mano, es inofensivo"...

In Lina's house there is always something to photograph, I see a bunch of things on her facade and start shooting. Lina sees me and asks: "What are you taking pictures of, man" and I answer: “There's something like a cubist paint there on your facade”, then Lina bursts out laughing and asks: "What does cubist mean"... A father and daughter are walking down the town's last street, I think they are going for a hike in the hills, I look at them from afar and remember when I used to do that with my sons, I feel a little emptiness in my stomach, but I still take a picture, a photographer sometimes has to overcome his memories... Life is a bit more cheerful in the "Las Mercedes" neighbourhood, there are a couple of dogs that always play chase each other, and I can swear that I see them smiling while they do that...
En la casa de Lina hay siempre algo para fotografiar, veo un puñado de cosas en su fachada y comienzo a disparar. Lina me ve y pregunta: ¿A que le tomas fotos, caray? y yo le contesto: ¡Hay algo como una cubista allí en tu fachada!, entonces Linas suelta una carcajada y pregunta: ¿Qué quiere decir "cubista"?... Un padre y su hija van por la última calle del pueblo, creo que van de excursión a las colinas, yo les miro de lejos y recuerdo cuando hacía eso con mis hijos, siento un pequeño vacío en mi estómago, pero aún así disparo una foto. Un fotógrafo tiene a veces que sobreponerse a sus recuerdos... La vida es un poco más alegre en el barrio "Las Mercedes", allí hay un par de perros que siempre juegan a perseguirse entre sí, y yo puedo jurar que los veo sonreír mientras hacen eso...

A pompous, eloquent, noisy and bright pigeon makes "curu cuckoo", turns, spreads out, seems to dance on the top of a lamppost, while two female birds pretend indifference to his amorous exhibition, it is a scene that is often repeated not only on lamppost and not only between pigeons, I think... An everyday street, I find it beautiful, but it lacks something, oh yes, an out-of-focus bicycle, of course!... And just two streets away from my house, the bare cobblestone facades remind me, or rather: "shout in my face", that the towns is ageing very badly...
Un pichón pomposo, elocuente, ruidoso y brillante, hace "curu cucú", gira, se ensancha, parece danzar en la punta de un poste de alumbrado, mientras dos aves hembras simulan indiferencia ante su exhibición amorosa, es una escena que se repite con frecuencia no solo en los postes de alumbrado y no solo entre pichones, pienso... Una calle cotidiana, me parece hermosa, pero le falta algo, ¡oh sí!, ¡una bicicleta desenfocada, por supuesto!... Y apenas a dos calles de mi casa, las fachadas de adoquines desnudos me recuerdan, más bien me gritan en la cara, que el pueblo envejece muy mal...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7

Hahaha :)) No @ekavieka friend, the purpose of that plastic scooter is even stranger... I asked Carlos what it was for and he answered that he would sell it to be used as fuel to start fires in wood stoves... Here in our country we are going through a period of shortage of fuel and domestic gas and believe me, very strange things happen! ☹️... Thanks for stopping by and appreciating!
