West of town are the mountains and these first days of December I have had at my disposal some mornings of blue skies and bright sunshine. However, fog is a regular visitor in our valley, so it is not surprising that it slowly arrives from the East as it always does, slowly covering the streets of the village and finally the base of the mountains... This charming arrival of the fog can best be seen from above and in these photos you can appreciate it...
Al Oeste del pueblo están las montañas y estos primeros días de Diciembre he tenido a mi disposición algunas mañanas de cielos azules y sol radiante. Sin embargo, la niebla es una visitante habitual de nuestro valle, así que no es de extrañar que llegue lentamente desde el Este como lo hace siempre, cubriendo lentamente las calles del pueblo y luego la base de las montañas... Este encantador arribo de la niebla puede ser visto mejor desde lo alto y en estas fotos ustedes pueden apreciarlo...
It's only been a couple of weeks since the rains slowed down here, so the vegetation is still lush and there is plenty of foliage on the trees. This perhaps detracts a bit from the drama of the photos (personally I like it better when the tree branches are bare) but in these conditions I can establish an entertaining and challenging visual play based on contrast when I proceed to edit these photos. So this is also good for me as a photographer....
Apenas hace un par de semanas que las lluvias aminoraron aquí, así que la vegetación está aún exuberante y hay bastante follaje en los árboles. Esto quizás resta un poco de drama a las fotos (personalmente me gusta más cuando las ramas de los árboles están desnudas) pero en estas condiciones puedo establecer un entretenido y desafiante juego visual a bases de contraste cuando procedo a editar estas fotos. Así que esto también es bueno para mi como fotógrafo...
Some of these photos are out of the landscape theme (like the one with the birds flying over the pasture or the one of the woman exercising on the road) but I wanted to include them because they were taken precisely on the way to the hills and therefore are part of the whole experience of those days. Algunas de estas fotos se salen de la temática paisajista (como esa con las aves volando sobre el pastizal o la de la mujer ejercitándose en el camino) pero quise incluirlas debido a que fueron hechas precisamente en el trayecto hacia las colinas y por ende forman parte de toda la experiencia de esos días. ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
