Today I want to bring you a special session because of how I did it.
In Cuba being a photographer is very difficult because of the lack of resources and photography is a very expensive art and we do not have special prices, we have to buy everything at the same price as photographers buy it first, world. That’s why we always try to do many things on our own and not have to buy them and this photo is one of those inventions we make.
Cubans have always had to invent in order to move forward, we have developed a sense that allows us to see a little beyond the lack and not give up. I want to say that I do not try to romanize lack because this is not fun, we only do it out of necessity and we really hate it for what this means. But in the end unexpected results come out and give a unique touch.
The snoot I used was a cardboard tube with clips attached to a studio flash.
Returning to the photo, my model is called Haitana is a presenter of a youth program called walking, she is barely 15 years old and loves being a model and wants to study teratology, art history or acting. I see it very well projected, it is very intelligent. For my part I gave him some advice that I would have liked to hear when I was trying to find a career for my future professional.

Hoy les quiero traer una sesión especial por el hecho de como la hice.
En cuba ser fotógrafo es muy difícil por la carencia de recursos y la fotografía es un arte muy caro y nosotros no tenemos precios especiales, tenemos que comprar todo al mismo precio que lo compran los fotógrafos del primer, mundo. Por eso siempre tratamos de hacer por nuestra propia cuenta muchas cosas y no tener que comprarlas y esta foto es uno de esos inventos que hacemos.
Los cubanos siempre hemos tenido que inventar para poder seguir adelante, hemos desarrollado un sentido que nos permite ver un poco más allá de la carencia y no darnos por vencido. Quiero decirle que no intento romanizar la carencia porque esto no es divertido, solo lo hacemos por necesidad y la verdad lo detestamos por lo que esto significa. Pero al final salen resultados inesperados y dan un toque único.
El snoot que utilice fue un tubo de cartón con presillas acoplado a un flash de estudio.
Volviendo a la foto, mi modelo se llama Haitana es una locutora de un programa juvenil que se llama andando, apenas tiene 15 años y le encanta ser modelo y quiere estudiar teratología, historia del arte o actuación. La veo muy bien proyectada, es muy inteligente. Por mi parte le di algunos consejos que a mí me hubiese gustado escuchar cuando estaba tratando de encontrar una carrera para mi futuro profesional.
